January has been a cold, hard month!

February 2nd, 2010

We started off the first month of the year running all over the country for Monster Jam shows. We made our way to Des Moines in a record setting blizzard with temps around 17 below zero with wind chills in the minus 40’s. IT WAS TRULY COLD! We are grateful to all the true blue fans that sold out several shows in the Wells Fargo Arena, they were awesome. We cant wait to go back, hopefully when it is a little warmer!

We then headed down to San Antonio, TX for one of our biggest shows ever, and some warmth! The Alamodome was huge and so was the turnout for the recorded TV Monster Jam episode! Anthony had the truck tuned nice and we qualified and raced well, but the real excitement came during freestyle!

Charles was super jacked up with excitement and let it show during freestyle making big hits until a sick sky wheelie destroyed the entire back end! The hit was big, but so was the crowds response, and we were truly appreciative. They went wild after the accident! It should look great on SPEED TV!

Special thanks to Anthony and Bruce for staying up all night saturday to put the dog back in one piece for the sunday afternoon show, we made it! Our team has truly stepped up their game!

We look back at the memories ands eagerly loOk forward to the rest of the season!

THANKS TO ALL OUR OLD, AND NEW FANS!!!!! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

We just renewed our contract with the biggest promoter in the business for the 2010 season!

Our Monster Jam schedule has us traveling all over from the heartland to the west coast!

We will be back on Speed TV this year, and we will be at the world finals in Las Vegas!

We are honored to be invited back to run with the best, and we look ahead for this partnership that began in 2005 to go on many more years!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL THE GREAT MONSTER JAM FANS OUT THERE IN 2010!

Staying involved with Hospital and planning for 2010!

December 15th, 2009

Pit Bull is proud of our best year ever of donations to our beloved Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital.

We donated our checks from several shows and events, and we held an entire monster truck show to raise money and awareness of these kids. We also made it down to the hospital 4 times this year to visit with these special boys and girls, and even enjoy a great luncheon with the hard working, dedicated staff.

Our plans will include even more in 2010 for the kids! We are participating in the hospital’s “Change Bandit” program, doing more show check donations, more display appearances, running our new ride truck, and yet again hosting the SANDIA SUMMER SMASH in late June. We want a new record this year!

We will work harder than ever in the new year to give as much as we can raise to these amazing kids, and raising awareness and attention to their important needs!

HELP CARRIE TINGLEY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL…. YOU’LL BE GLAD YOU DID!

Albuquerque Monster Jam- Home for fall…. WE LOVED IT!

November 15th, 2009

We were loving life as we returned to Albuquerque for the big Monster Jam at Tingley! Our new sponsor, The Big Rig Connection, painted and repaired our body better than ever! We are grateful for their awesome help! Abe, Ron, and all the guys can take care of any collision repair or paint job with awesome style!

The 2 shows went very well as we competed against world class trucks like Grave Digger and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Charles did well in some weekend’s events taking a couple of second places… There is no doubt that Charles looks up to Pablo Huffaker in his Racesource Chassis Gravedigger for good reason, they are the toughest to beat. We enjoy the privelage of running with him, and we like to watch him too! Pablo is a class act!

To be able to say you took second at anything with these trucks there is a real honor, and we cant wait to see them again! Monster Jam put on another tremendous event right here in our awesome hometown!

WE LOVE OUR BEAUTIFUL HOMETOWN, SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!

Pit Bull Day was a success!

October 3rd, 2009

We were honored to be a part of the day in New Mexico that is “OUR” legally proclaimed holiday PIT BULL DAY. It was a huge festival at the Los Lunas Athletic Facility & Fields! There was a huge celebration of the awesome breed with everything from the power sled pullers to champion show dogs and then Team PBR giving rides on our new truck and then pounding on a car stack + a van! This entire event was held to raise money for the Pit Bull Rescue and The County Animal Shelter where Charles lives! It is a real honor to be recognized by the commission, the thousands of wonderful fans & neighbors that came out, and all the hard working officers and volunteers that make our county facility one that saves the lives of many animals! We plan to continue to help the animal shelter next year on our very special day!

HAPPY PIT BULL DAY TO ALL OUR FANS!

Ride Truck Anyone? We now have one!

September 1st, 2009

Team Pit Bull has added a new truck to the team, a ride truck! It it being completed at the team headquarters in Albuquerque. It should be running this month!

Then new truck is a Ford, but it will be the twin of the race truck and rock the same graphics package!

Now our fans can get the experience of riding in a full size Pit Bull Monster Truck.

Charles plans to use the truck for helping kids more than ever with fundraising events already being planned for the Carrie Tingley Hospital, New Mexico Adoption Exchange, and the Albuquerque Public Schools! Watch team Pit Bull make an even bigger impact on our community!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING ALL OUR AWESOME FANS COME RIDE WITH US!

Visit to Carrie Tingley to Deliver $10,000 donation!

August 10th, 2009

We went to one of the best visits we have ever had to the hospital today with the proceeds from the Sandia Summer Smash, TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!

We saw many of our old friends from the hospital and some new ones as well! Team Pit Bull, with the help of some great sponsors & volunteers, was able to bring this huge donation and spend the day with the kids along with 3 awesome trucks! Our entire summer was spent to raise both money… and awareness of the needs of this amazing place! Thank you to the staff of this facility, you guys are heroic and we salute the noble, honorable work you do there!

Team Pit Bull vows to do this again next year! We love these kids and the people that help them!

We are going to “Smash it at Sandia” for Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital!

June 28th, 2009

This is going to be the biggest show ever in Albuquerque for Team Pit Bull! We are going to be a part of the big outdoor show in Albuquerque this summer at the Sandia Speedway, and use the opportunity to raise $10,000 for Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital!

The “Sandia Summer Smash” is going to be a great chance to run for the hometown fans, and stay true to our ways in helping the hospital. We will have all the patients & families from CTH and UNMH that can come as guests of Charles and the team! Charles loves this hospital, and running for his beloved hometown! It is the best of both worlds for him! Thanks to Speedway for accomidating his team and his kids! THIS IS GOING TO BE A SPECIAL EVENT!

Charles cant wait to get back outside to run in Albuquerque! He said “Tingley Coliseum is fine for the winter time season, but he likes the extra room to run around and really open up the motor! He also said if the goal of $10,000 is hit, you can count on seeing the truck getting run harder than ever… AND THEN SOME!”

We cant wait to see everyone at the big event in Albuquerque! Come out to the shows and help us hit our goal to help the kids!

2 DAYS  -  3 BIG SHOWS!

HOME SWEET HOME!!!!

Clovis was cool!

May 17th, 2009

We went down to Clovis, NM againt o run against some great trucks like Barbarian, Ghost Ryder, and Bounty Hunter. Friday was alright but we tore out an entire rear drivetrain during racing… It was too much for Josh to fix during the show so he just removed it all and we rand 2 wheeel drive. We did ok but wanted to run harder!

Saturday night was a different story with the truck running great and taking the racing final over Bounty Hunter! We blew off a tire early in freestyle but kept going for some awesome 3 tire doughnut action!

We would like to thank the entire city of Clovis for being such rabid Pit Bull fans! We are grateful for each one of you and it makes us waxnt to come back and run it even hrder next time! There a many good looking folks wearing Pit Bull gear down in Clovis! Thank you for supporting us!

We also got some great help from the awesome dudes at Trans West Towing. Their talent and equipment aTre all there! They totally helped us get it together to go take the win saturday night! THANKS GUYS!

We also want to thank Todd and Cycle City for putting on another great show and inviting us to be a part! They run a class act!

We are proud to be New Mexico’s monster truck! See you again soon Clovis!

Charles Benns - 2009 Monster Jam Humanitarian Of The Year !

April 11th, 2009

3/29/2009 - Las Vegas, NV

At the 2009 Monster Jam World Finals Banquet, Charles Benns was honored as the Monster Jam “Humanitarian of the Year” for the second year in a row!

Charles has spent the last year since winning his first award working on his usual activities like cutting off his hair last April for locks of love, “an organization that helps kids who suffer hair loss”, and raising money to help orthopedically challenged kids at his beloved Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital in Albuquerque. Charles and Team Pit-Bull has helped raise around $12,000 in the last 6 months alone! They want to make a difference!

He also took on some new things like Summerbash 08′ at Kirtland Air Force Base, Valencia County Animal Rescue, and the very special Make a Wish foundation!

At Summer Bash at the Air Force Base, Charles took his monster truck down to hang out with the families and kids of soldiers serving overseas, and to thank the ones that are here! “Soldiers are my heroes” Charles.

The Valencia County Commission declared October 4th as “Pit Bull Day” in recognition of the work that had been done on behalf of educating the public about this misunderstood breed, and helping the animals. The day was used to crush cars, make friends, and raise monies for the shelter!

Charles met some really special kids from the Make a Wish foundation over the year and really wanted to do something big at his hometown show for them! Charles got a motorhome with the help of some good friends, and he took it to his hometown Monster Jam after it had been painted up real nice for Make a Wish on one side of it, and Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital on the other! He wiped it out and obliviated it in front of a sold out crowd in his home town. To him, those smiles and cheers from those kids are better than any award or anything else in the world! It was an awesome night, and a true demonstration of how Charles truly care about these kids! “His kids”!

Charles signs over all his hometown checks from his shows to the kids at Carrie Tingley, but the motorhome was his way of saying thank you to an entire town that has really embraced him as their guy! It was really and truly “for his fans”!

In the words of the World Freestyle Champion Damon Bradshaw- You don’t do any of this stuff for a plaque or anything, but it is nice that somebody cares!

Charles wanted to recognize his team and all of their personal sacrifices they have endured so he can give away the money. They have made his charity work their charity work as well! Charles fully acknowledges his team and he always says he would be nothing without them!

Charles is very humbled by this award and recognition, and it only makes him do more!           HE WILL!

Las Vegas, Nevada - Monster Jam World Finals 09′

April 11th, 2009

We were lucky enough to be invited back to the pinnacle event in our sport! Although we did not make the top cut as a top 24 truck, we were on display for the largest event of the year for Monsters! We met tens of thousands of fans, and got to participate in a tremendous event! We loved meeting all the new fans and visiting again with all the old ones! If you were at this event, you know what we are saying when we say “this is the one”! All the damage and destruction, it was all there!!!!

Congratulations to the now 8 time world finals champion Tom Meents for taking the racing title, and to Damon Bradshaw for getting it done in freestyle! You guys put on a show!!!!

Thanks to Feld and Monster Jam for putting on such an awesome event and having us there!

Lunch with Albuquerque’s Mayor Chavez @ Golden Corral Restaurant

April 11th, 2009

Charles and Team Pit Bull were recently honored to be invited to have lunch with Albuquerque’s distinguished Mayor, MARTIN CHAVEZ. The whole thing was a part of the recent Carrie Tingley Children’s Hospital “Radiothon 2009″. The Mayor is a good guy who really does care about the kids in this facility! Regardless of your politics and beliefs, our Mayor is a truly smart, classy guy, and Albuquerque is lucky to have him! He is really up on his knowledge of our animal humane issues. We were very impressed with his whole outlook, and it was an honor to sit down to a meal with him! We will support anyone who keeps his word like Mayor Chavez, and he really believes in helping kids and animals! He is a good man!

Thanks to Golden Corral Restaurants and particularly “Ro”. They are a huge supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network, and UNM Children’s Hospital! They also treated us to some delicious food! We had a great lunch with the Mayor on one day, but we also almost broke the bank one day when they invited everyone at the shop to come eat! We had the world champion team Batman in town and team Monster Mutt Dalmation! With three teams, you can imagine the food we can put away but they didn’t even flinch. Golden Corral is a great company that we really like! The great food is a sweet bonus! We recommend eating there only if you really like delicious food, and lots of it! Count on seeing the Pit Bull Truck parked out in front of their restaurants while the team is inside having some great food!

We will be working more with them in the future to raise more money for these kids that need it so much!

Wichita Falls was wild!

April 11th, 2009

We were back in the cool Texas town of Wichita Falls. Kay Yeager Coliseum saw us back on the concrete beatin’ on our chassis! We ttok on trucks like  Martial Law, Bad Habit, Barbarian, Turtle, and Gravedigger w/ Pablo! We ran pretty good over the weekend, but we broke a transmission the first night! The people in this town were so friendly and we want to thank them for that! We hope to return again soon!

On TV’s Monster Jam in El Paso!

March 19th, 2009

We went to the fun town of El Paso, TX to race against a world class field! There was Speed TV & Scott Douglass in the house! March is starting big Lonestar style! We took on trucks like Gravedigger “driven by big daddy Dennis Anderson”, Blue Thunder, El Toro Loco, Batman, Bounty Hunter, both monster mutts, Iron Outlaw, King Krunch, El Matador, Backwards Bob, and the return of Madusa! WOW!

The truck was running great during racing! We defeated King Krunch to advance into round 2, but we shattered everything in the front drivetrain to get the win!

Joshie and Bruce thrashed with the help of Monster Jam guys like Paul Cohen, but we could not get it finished in time to make it in time to get reinspected for freestyle. :(

We understand that it is all about safety first with the folks at Monster Jam, we are just intense competitors that wanted to get it back out there to destrouy it for the crowd!

Sunday, the truck ran better! We seem to get paired with Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter everytime we run this year! He is Fast, and makes us better! For sunday freestyle, Charles aired the truck out higher than ever and it held up pretty well! He eventually broke some shocks! The crowds were very good to us and we cant wait to go back!

VIVA EL PASO!!!!!

Tucson was hot in February!

March 6th, 2009

We had a great time and ran good last weekend with Monster Jam at the TCC! Thanks to all the awesome fans who came out over 4 show in 3 days! We will be back in this hot town again soon!

Albuquerque was a HUGE success! For us..and kids!

March 6th, 2009

We had a great weekend a t the hometown Monster Jam! Great wheelies for team Pit-Bull were rockin’ all weekend. We did alright in racing, and we had one of our coolest freestyles ever! For saturday night, we got a class b motor home and painted it up custom just for kids! One side was for Make-A-Wish, and one side was for Carrie Tingley Hospital! The Pit-Bull leveled it for the kids then signed over the entire team check for the whole weekend to CTH! We also hosted Daniel, a very special kid from Make-A-Wish! His mom said he had a blast! PLEASE CHECK OUT ALL THE PICTURES IN THE GALLERY, THEY ARE AWESOME !

A very special thanks to Monster Jam management for allowing us to bring in the motorhome, and for giving us the tickets we neededc to host our Make-A-Wish kid and his family!

On wednesday, Charles took his entire Monster Jam check to the 6th floor at UNM-CTH kids ward. He participated in the “radiothon”, and his donation was matched by the awesome folks at the local Wal Mart distribution center! TEAM PIT-BULL GAVE A TOTAL OF $8,000 TO THE KIDS AT CARRIE TINGLE HOSPITAL! It was one of the happiest days since we have started doing this!

We have given this hospital and the kids over $12,000 in the last 90 days alone! We will continue to use our monster truck to help kids. We have built a reputation by doing this, and even in this difficult economy… WE WILL NOT STOP HELPING THESE CHILDREN!

Thank you to all of our great fans in Albuquerque that are behind us and support our efforts with the kids!

Castle Rock, CO - Visiting an old friend… Making new ones!

February 19th, 2009

We stopped in Castle Rock, CO to do motorsports live w/ Jeff “Roller” Richards on his national radio show! It went great and Charles co-hosted the show for the entire show! Check out the broadcast at www.castlerockradio.com go to “Motorsports Live”, then Archives for Feb 16th, 2009. Jeff was very gracious to invite us in! We definitely love his show!

We also had a little trouble with our rig in Castle Rock, but we got it handled by a couple of great guys at a great shop! Douglas County Diesel was awesome to us! Chad and James took good care of us! We worked hard with them all day long in the cold wind on a very hard job, and they never gave up! Over the course of the day, we were able to see first hand the awesome job the do at a really cool diesel pick up place! They can definitely make your diesel a hot rod. The are off Caprice Court in Castle Rock, and they will quote many accessories for your diesel over the phone @ 303-660-9986. Charles wants to personally thank them for taking on such a difficult, unusual job! They got us down the road, and home to do our hometown Monster Jam this weekend for the kid’s hospital! Thanks James & Chad… you guys rock!

We definitely have some great friends in Castle Rock.. We will be back again!

Casper was a good time!

February 19th, 2009

We ran good in Casper, WY last weekend at another great CFP event! Dan Runte in Bigfoot got us in racing. We definitely left our mark on the track in freestyle! A sick reverse wheelie off the van stack sent Charles flying backwards and into one of the racing dirt hills. We smashed all sorts of stuff under the truck. Steering, hoses, body damage… It was crazy! We shoveled into the trailer and we’ll get it back together for this week in Albuquerque! Charles wanted to say hi to the night staff at the Best Western, and thank them for not having him locked up!!!!! Doesn’t everyone stay up all night????

We loved Loveland!

February 11th, 2009

We went back to this awesome Colorado city to get it on with some awesome trucks!

Saturday afternoon was on pace with 2nd place finishes in racing and freestyle. We lost to a legend Dan Runte of Bigfoot! He is truly one of the classiest representatives of the sport and it an honor just ot be on the same track with him!

Saturday night was a little better to us with 2nd in racing again but 1st in freestyle! Charles had some nice reversers over the stacks!

Thanks to Checkered Flag for holding another great show in Loveland. This has to be one of the friendliest towns in the country! We’ll run there anytime for such awesome fans!!!!

Pictures are in the gallery!

Phoenix Monster Jam was hot!

January 31st, 2009

We had a great weekend running in Phoenix! We saw many old fans and hopefully made some new ones! The truck ran good on our new motor, “thanks to Paul at Performance Plus Engines”, and we madi it through racing with a tough draw! We qualified against bounty Hunter, then round one against Charles’ favorite driver Pablo in Digger. Ouch… tough racing bracket!

Freestyle was intense as these were some tremendous obstacles. We got off to a good start, then on a big hit, a steereing relief valve literally broke in two! Charles kept going on just rear steering alone as long as he could, cross threading jumps and almost rolling off a van stack, it was cool! Finally, without steering he sideswiped it into the bus stack and crushed in the front end! 4 link bars… steering… there was all kinds of damage and the fans loved it! We filled the clock and still had a good time even without front steering!

Team Pit-Bull really likes Phoenix, and we cant wait to get back soon!

Sadness for San Diego :(

January 17th, 2009

We were supposed to be in San Diego, CA this weekend to run it harder than ever and to be on TV for Monster Jam.

Unfortunately, due to last weekends motor failure, we could not make this date…

The guys and I spent the entire week trying to put everything back together. We tried to make it even better than it was. When we went to start it up, it sucked a valve down into a cylinder….. This was our last engine, and we were also out of time to make it to the show! I had to make one of the most difficult calls of my life to let MJ know we weren’t going to be able to make it… They have every right to be dissapointed with us, I know we are…

We are very sorry to everyone that wanted to see us destroy it in San Diego, and to Monster Jam… We realize what a shot like this means, and we had every intention of making the most of it!

We will be back to 100% for next week, but it doesn’t make any of us feel any better right now.

PLEASE DONT GIVE UP ON US…. IT WILL HAPPEN FOR US!!!! WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK!!!

SEE YOU SOON!

Kansas was hard work!

January 17th, 2009

We ran in Wichita last weekend, and it kicked our tails…. Friday night was of to a great start, and we were having fun. The wheelies were great. Racing was going going good, we even made it to the final round vs Bounty Hunter, then it got weird!

It was as if our motor was experiencing some kind of friction or dragging. it began to act really funny during the doughnut competition, then died…..?  We could not get it to re-fire for the freestyle competition.

On Saturday morning, we got there bright and early so Josh and I could go through it all. We figured that the batteries had some type of freak failure so we replaced them with two new ones. We still had hard turnovers, so we replaced the starter too. We now felt like we were ready!

When the Saturday show started, we were again off to a good start, but during the second round of racing, our engine seized! This was it…. Our problem had been a major bearing failure in the bottom of the motor just getting worse until it locked up! We were now done for the weekend!

On Sunday, Charles was asked to stay around to help announce the show, and to do commentary. He really enjoyed this and had a good time working with Larry Naston. Announcing fits Charles like a glove!

Sunday night/ Monday morning we are headed back home to put it back together for next week in San Diego for TV!

We would like to say hi and thanks to a few folks in Wichita-

Michelle from the Sleep Inn- For being such a friendly host and running a very nice hotel + great staff!

Joe from Advanced Auto Parts- For helping us get our batteries and everything else we needed!

A great medical staff on hand, and a great staff to help run the shows!

And definitely, the great town of Wichita for making us feel so welcome again! We will be back to pound on that concrete floor again!

New website launches!

December 2nd, 2008

After weeks of hard work, it is finally here! The all new pitbullmonstertruck.com is up and running. Including an awesome new store that we would appreciate your visit! Many thanks to Karyn! We love this site!

Carrie Tingley Hospital hosts both Pit Bull Racing Trucks for donation ceremony!

November 19th, 2008

We went to the hospital again this week. It was to give the kids our winnings from both trucks! Daniel and Crystal from Carrie Tingley put together another great event with many patients able to come out front and see the trucks up close! Charles loves to meet and interact with these very special young people, it reminds him why we work so hard just to give away the earnings. These kids are worth it and Charles says, “I WILL NEVER STOP HELPING THIS HOSPITAL” !

Thanks to all the sponsors and good friends who help us do this, we could not do it without them!

We also want to personally thank Monster Jam on putting on such a great show, and allowing us to be a part!

The hospital did a video of the event, it is truly touching. Thank You Carrie Tingley, you guys rock!
